Memorial Day weekend 2025 marked my first visit to Artscape. I was planned to attend the festival in 2020, but it was canceled because of the pandemic. After two years, it returned in 2023. However, with severe weather forecasts threatening the mostly outdoor event, I canceled my plans for both 2023 and 2024. This year, the weather was beautiful on Saturday and Sunday. I bought some art, enjoyed amazing free performances, and ate delicious food. I had a fantastic time. I also got to see country artist Tanner Adell perform her song, Love You a Little Bit, which is on my Amazon playlist.
On Friday, the night before Artscape, I attended the Queens concert featuring Gladys Knight, Stephanie Mills and Chaka Khan. It was my first time seeing any of them perform live. The Queens Tour was phenomenal. Gladys Knight's rendition of Midnight Train to Georgia was a crowd favorite. Stephanie Mills brought incredible energy and showmanship. And finally, I got to see Chaka Khan perform! Last summer, I tried to see her twice but missed both shows. It was a great weekend.
